The Paxton Youth Soccer Board met this past Sunday night at 7pm. After having a little mix-up getting the keys to the White Building, we moved the meeting to the open Space of Tivnan Field. It was refreshing and nice to be outside on such a wonderful evening.
Here is a brief recap of our meeting as we head into the Fall 2015 Season:
We currently have 81 registered players across all programs.
We are hopeful that some families are away on and vacation and will continue to register upon returning.
As it stands right now we have a good foundation of players but if you haven’t registered your kid(s) yet, please do so soon
rather than later. This allows us to better plan and organize going into the season.
We have a few new members of the board that we would like to acknowledge and thank for joining PYS board;
Heather Larson has joined as our new Registrar and is working with our current Interim Registrar Dave Saart to learn the ropes.
Mark Hehir, formerly Secretary and U8 Coordinator has taken the role of town rep within MAYSL ( the regional league that our
U10 and older players play in) as well as coach a u10 Boys team and U12 Girls team! Big Thanks Mark!
Sarah Fontaine has joined as U8 Coordinator and will also be an assistant for one of the U8 teams.
Scott Gregorczyk has joined as U10 Coordinator
Pat Flynn has volunteered to ensure that field lining and prep for the Fall season is managed and handled prior to weekend games.
Lisa Westerlind has volunteered to be the new PYS Board Treasurer and will be learning from Dave Saart, our current Treasurer during the next few months.
From memory, I think that is all the major role changes, if I am forgetting anyone or anything, please let me know by commenting below.
I would like to personally thank everyone who has stepped up by participating and joining the PYS Board. Every little bit helps and is truly appreciated. We want to see our program continue to grow and provide a fun environment for kids to learn soccer with their friends and peers.
Other items of interest:
U10 Boys evaluation will be on July 21st and July 23 from 6-7PM at Klingele fields with potential make-up date(s) of July 28th and will ran by Scott Gregorczyk.
The evaluations will allow us to place players within the correct divisions for U10. Previously it had been suggested in email correspondence(s) that the U10 Girls would also participate in the evaluation as well, but due to current registration numbers, we have decided that they will not need to attend the evaluations on the 21st and 23rd. We will be fielding one team and we have familiarity with the players enough to know which division they will be placed.
Lastly, we still have a few positions open and are welcoming volunteers.
U6 Coordinator – set up and oversee the U6 program on Sunday, work with other volunteer parents to run warm-ups, drills and games for the K and Pre K program.
Secretary- attend monthly board meetings and record minutes
Cori Coordinator- oversee and maintain Cori protocols for coaches, board members and parent volunteers.
