Good morning PYS Parents,
We are happy to announce that Paxton Youth Soccer will be opening registration for the Fall 2020 season.
Due to COVID-19, we have held off opening registration as we wanted to see additional guidance(s) from Mass Youth Soccer and MAYSL regarding the phased reopening of sports.
Registration will open July 13th and close July 22nd. We acknowledge this is a short window of time to register and we need to submit teams to MAYSL no later than July 26th. As a result, July 22nd will be a firm deadline for registration for all leagues U10-U14. U6 and U8 town Coed programs have a later deadline, they are not a part of MAYSL( which serves our travel teams) and therefore we have a little more time there.
As of right now, the U10 and older seasons are scheduled to start 8/29/2020 and run through 11/1/2020.
Please note: The Paxton Youth Soccer program is contingent upon the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Reopening Phase 3 guidelines. The PYS Program will only go ahead if the program structure is allowable per state guidelines. On July 6th there was an update and Contact Sports, including soccer are still not allowed.
We are facing unprecedented times with COVID-19 and the related impact. Paxton Youth Soccer would like to be transparent and let you know that after the start of the season, due to uniforms being ordered, fees to league paid, insurance paid, fees to our skills clinic team, etc PYS will not be able to issue a refund in the event that Soccer is not allowed under the Phase III Massachusetts Reopening Guidelines. We want to be transparent with parents and for the league to remain viable for the future we will not be able to issue a refund once the season has started.
How can you sign up?
You can register by visiting https://www.sportsmanager.us/PaxtonYouthSoccer.htm and selecting Registration from the left hand menu.
Please help spread the word, if you are friends with other parents from prior years, reach out to them, encourage them to register.
Lastly, Paxton and other Wachusett towns have struggled at times to field High School aged teams. The 5 towns have been talking that past couple years about a recreational, regional High School league. This fall with the first year of the Wachusett Regional High School Recreational League or W5 as we have been calling it amongst ourselves;
Survey for High School
Please pass this along to your player and encourage them to fill out the W5 Form. W5 will run out of Holden Youth Soccer. If your player is interested and has any question before registering, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are excited to start planning for the Fall season and will update parents frequently during Summer and into Fall.
